OUR CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE

Within the BRIDGE NETWORK project 6 Centers of Excellence (CoEs) have been established in the following SSA countries: Benin, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa and Ethiopia. These CoEs ensure the sustainability of the training program beyond the EDCTP3 funding period. The CoEs will serve as training host, graduating field research setting, hub for harmonized infectious diseases data ready for research use and sustainability training places beyond the program grant.

All CoEs will recruit trainees but only 3 CoEs will be degree awarding. The degree awarding CoEs are built on the existing university capacity to offer degree awarding program (University of Cape Town, South Africa) or built on the existing partnerships between selected SSA public health institutes and local universities with degree awarding programs capacity (University of Rwanda through Rwanda Biomedical Center – RBC/Ministry of Health, and Abomey Calavi University –Benin through “Institut Régional de Santé Publique Comlan Alfred Quenum”).
