Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) is a top-ten public university in Uganda
(Webometrics, 2025) that started in 2005.In line with the University’s core mandate of
teaching, research and community service, the university’s strategic plan envisions a
research driven university offering local and global solutions to current and future
developmental challenges.
It offers demand driven certificate, diploma and degree level programmes tailored to the
needs of the local, national and international community.
The university has 6 faculties (Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty
of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, Technology &
Innovations, Faculty of Business and Management studies, Faculty of Arts and Social
sciences) and a directorate of Postgraduate studies.
Currently, the university is offering a total of 42 academic programmes with a student
population of 2460 students and 314 staff members
